Seven Week Smile
Baby "K" is growing! We head back to the Doctor tomorrow for a weight check. I think he is gaining though -- so my weightlifting program is intensifying! =) We are having some rare smiling moments now! Baby "K" is taking some medicine for acid reflux, but I am not sure if it is really doing anything. He is still very unsettled. Our daycare provider commented about how unsettled and agitated he becomes -- along with the volume of spit up. When will we turn the corner to a happier baby? Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts!

Sleepmeister
After I returned from an outing to the doctor, I happened upon this beautiful sight! I decided right then and there that Lady Di has some sleep talent! Her husband "W" was playing some tunes on the piano, and it is obvious that Baby "K" was certainly enjoying the ambiance.
Sleeping babies really are sweet, aren't they? =)

Easter Egg Hunt
The weather on Easter was simply spectacular! The weather forecast was for rain, and quite cool -- but we had sun, breeze and slightly cool weather. The family was excited for the annual hunt! We headed to a local park, and went to town hunting for goodies!
Each adult family member brought items for the 14 little ones under the age of 10. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren joined in. We designated cousin "T" to hunt for baby "K" this year. He really was not ready to go hunt Easter goodies!
We came home with baby food, a onesie, toys, a bib and other fun memorabilia. The chocolate rabbit went to cousin "T" for her hunting help, and I am excited to enjoy the ring pop! Grandma provided some money for each child, and we are safely putting it away for the savings account that I plan to open soon.
It was a wonderful Easter, and here is a picture of the hunt in progress to prove it! Thanks family for a wonderful day, and your help with baby "K"!

Intense Conversation
Our good friends, "W" and "Lady Di," watched Baby "K" for me while I headed to a doctor's appointment. Our little guy was having a great day! He was very alert -- and happy -- rare moments indeed!
I snapped a shot of "W" and Baby "K" having some conversation. Well, "W" was sharing lots of helping tips, and Baby "K" was soaking it all up! I thought this photo might bring a few laughs. So, enjoy!

Happy Easter!
As the Lenten season comes to an end, our little boy is now six weeks old! It is hard to believe that we prepared for this special day with a new baby. Baby "K" is growing and is quite strong. He is a little wiggle worm, and it is often difficult to get him settled down to sleep. I think we better watch out when he learns to crawl!
We wish your family a blessed Easter day. Hopefully, you are able to celebrate this glorious day with family and friends. We look forward to attending Mass and then heading out for a family visit with Mr. Fixit's family.

Test Results
Baby "K" and I headed for his sonogram today at the hospital. Our appointment was at 1:00 p.m. My instructions were to skip the feeding right prior to the appointment. So, I fed Baby "K" at 10:30 a.m. and hoped for the best!
The technician conducted the test, and then the radiologist came in for live pictures. He determined that everything is functioning as normal in our little guy. There will not be a need for surgery for Baby "K".
I must say, I was hoping this would be the answer as to why our little baby is fussy and not content. He is fussy when he is hungry. I feed him, which results in more fussiness. Much of the feeding is then spit up -- a LOT of spit up, and the process begins again. This is our days -- and nights. I really was hoping for an answer.
So, Mr. Fixit and I are hoping he will calm down soon. I don't know how much longer we can endure the daily hours of crying. I head back to work soon, and really would like to get some sleep. We simply don't know what else to do. Everyone says, "Oh, it will get better," which, by the way, does NOT make me feel any better. Thanks all you readers for your prayers!

Doctor, Doctor Give Me Some News!
Today was Baby "K's" one month appointment. He is officially five weeks old! Mr. Fixit was able to accompany us to the appointment, because he worked lots of overtime this week. Here are his growth stats:
- 10 pounds 4 ounces
- Head Circumference is 15 inches
- 22 inches long
Baby "K" is growing! He is in the 55 percentile for his weight and head and the 50 percentile for his height. He is starting to fill out, and has the cutest little cheeks. Ok, well, maybe I am a little biased here, but they sure are perfect for lots of kisses =).
Anyway, we asked the doctor about his projectile spit-up and fussiness after feedings. I asked if this was normal, and the doctor said no. So, we are trying a few things to see what might help. We are going to skip a feeding, to see if that helps him keep more in his tummy. If this works, this means that we will have to go longer between feedings, which, I am guessing, will not make Baby "K" very happy!
We are also going to try supplementing with some formula. We received a special kind for colic from the doctor. So, we will see how Baby "K" likes this.
The third recommendation is to take Baby "K" in for a sonogram. This is a non-evasive test to see how the muscles are around his esophagus and stomach. The doctor said that it is more common for boys to have a tightening of these muscles, which can cause discomfort and can make it difficult to keep food down. There is some long word name for it, but I honestly can't recall what the name is or how to spell it! Anyway, this appointment is next Tuesday. We will see what we learn.
That is generally the scoop. We will try these possibilities, and hope that he grows out of tummy troubles. Next month's appointment will bring his first round of immunizations. Oh the adventure!
On Fire
Upon walking into the kitchen, and looking out the South window -- I witnessed a cloud of smoke and lots of flames! The neighbor to the East had been burning his pasture, and well, the wind had now moved the fire to our pasture.
I saw Mr. Fixit moving towards the group of men assembled on four wheelers and pick-ups to survey the situation. See, we really needed our pastured burned too, but we just didn't plan on doing it that day. However, since a crew was assembled, and the fire was going, Mr. Fixit said to let it burn.
Mr. Fixit grabbed a shovel and helped guide the flames. A majority of our pasture was burned. Mr. Fixit came back into the house at 9:45 p.m. that night. He was quite tired and smoky! Here is a picture of the burning in action! Be safe!

One Month with Baby "K"
Our little blonde haired and blue eyed baby boy is one month old! He will be heading off to the doctor this week for a weigh and measure, and maybe some immunizations. I am not a 100% certain on the immunization details. Anyway, our little guy is officially one month old!
Baby "K" is sleeping more and is able to play for short little periods of time. He loves to be held, and enjoys cuddling too. Mr. Fixit and I had our first "date night" since Baby "K" arrived. Some friends of Mr. Fixit kept our little boy while we headed out to dinner and for a quick tour of a new building center store in the city. It was a wonderful night out, and Baby "K" was sound asleep when we returned from our outing.
This week we will try a 1/2 day of day care and maybe visit the Mall for a bit of walking. The morning walkers made me promise to bring him by, so I better get to it! Enjoy a peek at our one-month-old!

3 Weeks
It is hard to believe, Mr. Fixit and I concur, that it has been three weeks since this little guy arrived. Honestly, I can't imagine life without him. However, I will say that it has been the longest three weeks of my life!
Baby "K" is still adjusting to life in the big world. He has not really been a fan of lots of the world happenings. He still absolutely despises baths. I would think it should be a relaxing experience, but it is much not like that at all!
We have been blessed with many visitors, and are thankful for them all. The baptism has been scheduled, and we are looking forward to some nice warm days soon. This mama is ready for some outdoor time! Enjoy this pic of our growing little boy!
