"K" has reached another milestone - 15 months! This doctor appointment yielded three shots for a total of 5 vaccines. "K" still thinks the scale is scary, and would not accept the lollipop after the appointment had ended! On the bright side, he only needs one more shot, which will occur at the 18 month appointment.
So, here is how the stats look:
*22 pounds 6 ounces in weight (25 percentile)
*32 inches in length (75 percentile)
*19 inch head circumference (50 percentile)
"K" has gotten taller, and well, as Doctor "K" experienced - much stronger! That little temper sure did appear during the examination. I am certain that EVERYONE in the building knew when we had left!
"K" can now say "kitty," "moo," "water," "bye-bye" and "bath." Be careful if you say "walk," because he knows that he gets a stroller ride! "K" acquired his four eye teeth, or first molars, at the same time. So that brings him to a total of 12 teeth. Eight more to go!
Next up in "K's" world: moving to a different bedroom, complete with a new-to-him bed. We hope to get this accomplished in the next three weeks. Stay tuned!

It's Bath Time Baby!
When the word "bath" is announced, the following occurs: "K" takes off running for the bathtub, chanting "bath, bath, bath, bath" over and over! Mr. Fixit is the chief bath giver in the house, so he is one step ahead, running the water, grabbing the toys and other bath essentials.
"K" loves the water, and has recently enjoyed touching the water as it fills the tub. Sometimes, he gets a little too ambitious, and we must pull him back before he dives in head first. Mr. Fixit is much more generous with water - and bubbles - than I am. So, I am sure that he will be dubbed the favorite bath giver by the kiddos! In the meantime, I have started having some old towels handy for a quick floor clean-up after the bath fun has ended for the night =).

Mr. Sandman
"K" is fascinated by rocks, dirt, mulch and sand. This was what inspired us to create a mini porch sandbox, because, well - I don't know how much more the garden plants could handle being dug up! So, "K" received some buckets and shovels for Easter gifts, which we thought would make perfect sand box accessories.
"K" prefers sprinkling sand on the bottom of the buckets. He also enjoys just digging right in with his hands, instead of using the shovel. Needless to say, the porch is often covered with sand by the time the night is done. We sweep the deck clean, cover the box with a piece of plywood, and prepare for another day of sand adventures. The good news is that Mr. Fixit has extra sand, as some of it slips between the deck and is lost below!

Toy Boy
My good friend EM came for a Kansas visit, and she did such a fantastic job snapping photos of "K," which takes much patience! As she quickly discovered, he does not stay in the same place, or the same position for very long. This is a boy on a mission, and there is much to explore! No time to waste!
"K" was playing with some of his favorite toys, when we called his name, and he looked up with a smile. This is the moment that EM captured the photo with this post. As "K" is busy moving toys, trying out the stacking cups, sorting the rings and throwing the balls, it makes me wonder what he is thinking. This is what makes little guys so much fun: watching as they learn something new!

Daddy & "K"
While "K" is not really a snuggler, he does enjoy sitting with Mr. Fixit. Sometimes he will be fussing, and Mr. Fixit will pull him up on the chair with him. He will then settle down and enjoy a little bit of rocking and relaxing. Then, as quick as he wanted up, he is ready to hop down and investigate a toy that attracted his attention.
I am excited that the two are buds, as it really does make life easier. It does make me think about how he will be, once his little bro arrives in July. I do hope that he will still love to hang with Dad, and that Mom can still steal a kiss and some hugs too! Happy Father's Day Mr. Fixit!

Family Photo
It is hard to get a picture of all three of us, because, well there are many reasons. One reason is that "K" is moving all the time. Another reason is that Mr. Fixit is moving all the time. Still another reason is that we do not have someone to snap the photo, so as a result, photos of the three of us are limited!
Thankfully, some friends came to dinner, and they brought their cameras! Yeah, thank you EM and DM for bringing your cameras. Also, thank you, for then taking pictures with the cameras you brought. This totally made my day! I am sure that it made Mr. Fixit and "K's" day too, only they do not know this yet!

Pasture Walk
Thanks to EM for capturing this terrific photo! "K" loves being outside, and he really like roaming around the yard. The neighboring hay meadow was a place to explore this evening after dinner was done. So, "K" is checking out the grass and flowers! Soon though, it may be as tall as him!
Mr. Fixit was not far behind, making sure that "K" did not fall in his explorations. The evening was beautiful, a bit of breeze, and virtually no humidity. It is days like this that I am so thankful we live in Kansas! The beauty is breathtaking!

4-H Friends
While the three of us became connected because of our career with 4-H, we are still connected because of the friendship that was formed! The career that we were a part of definitely had a way of uniting people, in particular, professionals. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with these two fine ladies.
It is really quite a story. I was selected as a mentor to EM, and we both worked in the same area of the state that DM supported. Talk about a wealth of resources! DM really lent many hands to help us both be successful in our locations. So, thank you to two wonderful ladies who have been a wonderful part of my 4-H career! I definitely could not have accomplished what I have without you!
