All in a Day's Work?

My four co-workers have been out of the office the past several days, so I am the resident question answerer!  Here is what I have received so far - and I still have one more day to field. =)

  • Can I use parsnips in place of carrots for my carrot cake recipe?
  • We are a local dental firm, and we would like to be a sponsor for the county fair.  What can we sponsor?
  • Did you know that BB gun requirements have changed?  What are the new requirements?

So, I felt a bit like "Ask Helloise," but I did figure out some answers to the questions.  I am sure you are all curious; just in case you have been kept awake at night by the same questions, here are some answers for you:

  • Yes, you can use parsnips in place of carrots in a carrot cake recipe.  The cake will not have the familiar coloring, because the beta kerotene hue will be absent and the taste and texture will be a bit different too.  If you wish to substitute, use equal parsnips for equal carrots.  Don't forget to peel first before you grate!
  • Yes, we have many sponsor opportunities available.  A business may sponsor a specific event, a venue, provide marketing freebies or sponsor award categories.  Think about your dollar amount, and then we can suggest specific options that will fit your budget.
  • Yes, some BB gun requirements have changed.  A qualifying score is now 300.  Also, BB gun shooters can now go back to the sighter shots after they have started shooting for record bulls.  Hmmmm, what?  I know, I am not totally sure what that last statement means, but I am conducting further investigation.
Well, that is the scoop for the moment.  Stay tuned for more work mind benders!
